Guerrilha

it seems everything that I once considered really hard to find is slowly making it's way onto the internet. Thanks to Urbanoise-evil.blogspot.com for these, this is pretty badass considering how young and poor these guys were, no wonder early Sepultura and Mutilator are so fucking sweet.

Moonfog 2000: A different perspective

I've been looking for this forever, for the Thorns track it contains. I found it on Filestube, as well as metalunder666.blogspot.com. Unfortunately, they're both rapidshare. I'm gonna have to get someone else to test these files out, my connection in Brazil is too weak for Rapidshare.

Of course if you like this album, be sure to order it at Moonfog

Update: found some torrents, I haven't verified them though. Good luck waiting for those 2 people to go online.

Let's get down to business

alright, now that we got all the useless bullshit out of the way, let's get to work. First step, list everything we're looking for. Can't find something? send us a message and we'll put it on the list.

Chemako - I already got the LP, I just need a way to upload the tracks to a computer, which will be as soon as I get back from Brazil.

Guerrilha

Morriah

Thorns LTD I found some videos online once, I'll have to find them again.

Tvangeste - Blood Dreams, proof that Tvangeste was actually a black metal band at one point. There is a live video on youtube, but I'm looking for a copy of the original song.

Necrophagist - Requiems of Festered Gore

Eric's rare collectables and wanted list

This is just for the personal curiosity of the annonymous viewer, although I'm sure I'd be willing to part with something if you give me enough money (or perform sexual favors if you're a woman... wait a minute women don't listen to metal, nevermind).

-----------------------------------
Rare metal shit collection:
-----------------------------------

Arcturus - Aspera Hiems Symfonia picture disc LP. Missing it's cover unfortunately. Got it on Ebay.

Arcturus - Aspera Hiems Symphonia. Ebay. (thats right I own 3 copies of this album, I have the remaster as well, and I'm looking to get the promotional copy to see if it's any different)

Ulver - Ondes Triumph bootleg casette. Ebay.

Arcturus - My Angel limited edition box set. It's not an official release, but there are only 100 of them and it comes with cool shit. I got this hoping it would contain the lyrics to Morax (the song my angel can suck a dick, it's the only Arcturus song I don't like) but alas I was disapointed. I got it on Ebay.

Sepultura - Arise LP, original pressing. Ebay.

Chemako - Chemako LP. This is only available on record, there are no copies of it on the internets (not yet anyways, that's what this site is for), but you can buy it at Cogumelo records, at the shop or online. For those of you who don't know who Chemako are, It's Alexander Magu's band after Mutilator before he died. If you don't know who Mutilator are, go eat a dick. I got this musical gem in Brazil.

Mortem/Morbid split. This is an unofficial split, made many many years after these demos came out. Mortem went on to become Arcturus, and Morbid was Per Yngve Ohlins band in Sweden. I'm not a big fan of these unofficial releases, but it is rare (I'm not sure how many copies, different sources suggest different numbers) and these demos are pretty awesome. Yeah I got it on Ebay.

Mortem - Slow Death 7" LP. After having the above release for ages, and trying to get it at a reasonable price on ebay when it would rarely appear, I finally got a hold of this monumental record at Cogumelo records in Brazil. I have no idea how they got a hold of this, but I got it for only R$40. FUUUUUCK YEAH!

Joe Phenix - Long Hard Rocky Road (Autographed). No this isn't metal, it's the single album by dead obscure bluesman Joe Phenix. He taught bass lessons to my cousin, and my cousin brought me a signed cd. This guy fucking shreds, and he plays the blues like you've never heard before. This is probably the single most important album in my collection. There's no information at all on the internet, and I'm the only one I know of with a copy of his cd. I'm still looking for more of his material, as well as promoting his music, who else is gonna do it?

Warfare Noise remaster. Ok it's not rare, but it's one of the most important metal albums in the history of Brazil. It comes with a nice little booklet with the story as well as lyrics and pictures of all the bands. Unfortunately I lost it, so I've got to go back to Cogumelo get another copy.

these are just my rare collectables, I won't bother with the rest of my metal collection, that would take awhile.

-------------
Wanted:
-------------

Per Yngve Ohlin's shotgun. The one he used to blow his brains out, although I'm sure its in a museum somewhere.

Burzum Aske zippo lighter. Only 50 of these exist, it came with Aske when you bought it at Euronymous's shop. I'm sure when it does eventually surface it will be way out of my price range. I can only dream.

Burzum - Aske is also on my list to get, I've never seen the lighter for sale, and Aske is pretty damn expensive. There are also 3 copies of Aske where the sides of the record are reversed, which makes it very fucking expensive (I saw one go for over $700 a long time ago)

Arcturus - Constellation EP and Reconstellation bootleg. They do pop up from time to time, but always way too expensive. Reconstellation bootleg has two covers, the one with the band in black and white pops up more often, but I'm hoping to get the one with the northern lights over the forest. Constellation is even harder to find than Reconstellation unfortunately.

Arcturus - My Angel EP. I'm still looking for the lyrics to Morax (one of my many tasks for this site).

Arcturus - Promo 90. I would cream all over your moms face if this ever surfaced.

Arcturus - Aspera Hiems Symfonia promo. The only place I've ever seen this is ebay, not even any information. I wonder if it's somehow different from the album itself.

Mortem - Slow Death casette. That's right, I'm not content with only having 2 copies of this. The casette has a badass picture on it.

Ulver - the Trilogie. God damn this thing is fucking expensive, but god damnit I want it! In all seriousness, I will give sexual favors for this 3LP picture disc box set.

Ulver BM Trilogie 1st pressing of all cds. But most importantly, Bergtatt. I don't really care for the demo, and I have Ondes Triumph which includes the demo.

Emperor - Reverence . I saw this at Cogumelo, but it's fucking expensive. I just have to hope nobody buys it before I save up the money.

Mutilator - Into the Strange (CD or LP, preferably LP) Cogumelo seems to have run out of copies, although I'm not too worried, there are plenty of copies on ebay.

Mutilator - Immortal force LP. I've already got the remaster.

Mutilator - Grave Desecration demo. There also exists a bootleg with 3 live shows. The things I would do for that bootleg...

Warfare Noise I-III LPs. I gotta have this collection. the first one shows up pretty often, but goes for over $100 each time. The other two are rare, but aren't worth as much. If you haven't figured it out by now, I'm a huge fan of cogumelo records.

The Lost Tapes of Cogumelo. Must I say more?

Sepultura - Bestial Devistation/Overdose - Seculo XX split. Cogumelo's first release, people kill eachother for this shit.

Sepultura - Bestial Devistation, Morbid Visions, Schizophrenia, Beneath the Remains, on any format (I already have a Schizophrenia remaster though) Preferably LP

Forgotten Woods - Baklengs Mot Stupet. Box set. I wish these were LPs.

Forgotten Woods - Sjel Av Natten LP, or Casette, or CD, there are only 500 of each, in addition a green lp of only 200 copies.

Forgotten Woods - As the Wolves Gather LP. Fucking classic.

That's all for now, if you have one of these I would gladly give you money or perform some bizarre sexual act for it, preferably the latter, as I'm very poor.

Downloading metal

Just some tips for those not in the loop, here are some different methods for finding obscure and rare metal.
First of all, you should be using Metal-Archives.com (as well as wikipedia from time to time) for band information. If you don't use MA, then you're a fool and I pity you.

--Digital--
Blogspots: Just open google, type in the name of the band followed by the album followed by blogspot
example: Burzum Aske blogspot
This will lead you to many fellow metalheads hosting music on their blogspots. This is essential for finding hard to find albums. You may want to use quotation marks for better results if you aren't finding anything (thanks captain obvious). The files are usually hosted by either Rapidshare, Megaupload, or Mediafire. You can also type in the name of the band and album followed by any of those, but beware some rar or zip files have passwords on them, and you may have to find the original blog that uploaded it.

I prefer Mediafire, you can download multiple files at a time without waiting. Megaupload is pretty great too, and rapidshare depends on how many people are using it. There are many others, but these are the hosts you will encounter most of the time. Filestube and sites like it have lots of spam and bullshit, but if you know what you're doing they can be quite helpful.

Torrents: There are many private torrent sites, these are the best, they ensure you won't get a virus, but may not have what you are looking for. It's best to search for a variety of torrent sites, but of course if it's a rare or obscure torrent, there won't be too many people to download from. Good private sites include: What.cd, Demonoid.com (is this still private?). As for regular torrent sites, I'd recommend btjunkie.org. I'm sure Guy knows many other good sites, he torrents like a motherfucker. As for the torrent program, I highly recommend utorrent (or microtorrent as it should be called)

P2P (Kazaa, Napster etc.): I used to be a big fan of p2p till I discovered torrenting, and then blogspotting. You might be able to find what you're looking for, but like torrenting, if only 1 guy has the file, it'll be a real bitch to get a hold of. I wouldn't really know what programs are good (if any) I leave that for someone else to figure out.

Online stores: Nowadays, thanks to the interwebs, you can buy music online, on sites like iTunes, Rhapsody, etc. In my opinion, buying audio files is for chumps. Either pirate it or buy a hard copy, but if somehow one of these sites has some rare music you like that you can't find anywhere else (14 Bis), I say go for it.

Copying your friends metal collection: If you're like me, then you have friends with 500GB external hard drives maxed out with metal (and porn). This is by far the best way of getting music. Imagine the tape trading scene within the black metal circle in Norway, only with external hard drives, now thats a beautiful thought. Nowadays, your digital music collection is more important than your actual albums, but don't be a chump and pirate everything, support your favorite artists and build yourself a metal collection to be proud of.

--Hard Copies--
Ebay: I find most of my stuff on ebay, although I'm sure the rest of the team knows of some good trading sites. Or you could check out our collections/wanted lists.

more coming soon.

If you need help tracking down a rare piece of music or a leak, you've come to the right place. You can contact us by email, or by posting on this site.

We will also be using this site to promote our own musical endevours, as well as bands that need more attention.
